The MMS shall be a non-profit (en ideell förening) and non-political association having following objectives –
To promote Marathi & Indian culture, arts and heritage in Stockholm.
To promote the involvement of people of Indian origin in social and cultural life of Stockholm and Sweden.
To share and promote cultural harmony by involving local community.
To conduct events and festivals which will involve participants & artists across Swedish & Indian community and provide a platform for sharing culture, arts, literature & social activities.
To organise study groups or classes for Indian dance, music, musical instruments, art, Indian languages – mainly Marathi and Sanskrit or yoga etc.
To collaborate with the Embassy of India – Sweden & Latvia for any cultural initiatives.
To participate in events / activities organised by other similar cultural associations and encourage cultural exchange and social integration of the diverse communities. |
